# Settings: full reference

You find the settings in **InPlate → Settings**. The screen has tabs: **System**, **Sales**, **Notifications**, **Delivery zones** and **Radio**. Each group of settings is a separate card. On/off options are switches, and the **Save** button is in the bar at the bottom of the screen – visible all the time.

The schedule, dish types and QR tables have their own items in the InPlate menu – see [Schedule](/en/docs/schedule/), [Daily specials](/en/docs/daily-specials/) and [QR tables](/en/docs/qr-table-ordering/).

Changing the settings requires an active license or a trial. Without it the settings are read-only.

## The System tab

### Readiness to sell

The list at the top of the tab checks live whether the store can take orders: fulfillment methods, pages, a payment for every method, WooCommerce's “Coming soon” mode, pretty permalinks, the delivery zone, the pickup address, a kitchen staff account, KDS notifications, allergens and a terms consent. Every item has a button to the place where you fix it, a store in “Coming soon” mode is launched with **Launch the store** and pretty permalinks are turned on with **Turn on pretty permalinks**. Details in [Setup wizard](/en/docs/setup-wizard/#readiness-to-sell).

### Pages

Choose which pages do which job. WP InPlate uses them for links across the whole plugin.

| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| **Menu page** | The page with the `[wp-inplate-menu]` shortcode or the “InPlate – Menu” block. Redirects from the WooCommerce shop pages lead here |
| **Checkout page** | The page with the `[wp-inplate-checkout]` shortcode – the order form |
| **Table ordering page** | The page a guest lands on after scanning the QR code. It must contain the InPlate menu: the `[wp-inplate-menu]` shortcode or the “InPlate – Menu” block. Changing it doesn't require printing the codes again |

### Translations

The menu, the cart, the order form and emails for customers in several languages. See [Menu in several languages](/en/docs/multilingual-menu/).

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Use a multilingual site** | Turns the feature on. The other settings appear once it is on. Turning it off brings back one language – the chosen languages and translations stay saved | off |
| **Main language** | The website's language from **Settings → General** – read-only. You run the menu in it; the kitchen, the KDS and labels always use it | the website's language |
| **Extra languages for customers** | The languages customers can order in. An asterisk – InPlate's buttons and messages in that language; without an asterisk – in English. When WordPress doesn't have the language pack, the screen shows a warning | none |
| **Language switcher above the menu and in the order form** | Turn it off when you add the switch yourself – with a block or the `[wp-inplate-language-switch]` shortcode, e.g. in the header | on |
| **DeepL key (optional)** | Your own DeepL API key (the free plan is enough) for translation suggestions. After saving it doesn't go back to the browser; **Check the key** shows the usage, **Remove the key** deletes it when you save | none |

### TV screens

| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| **PIN for the TV panel** | A 4-digit PIN required to open `/wp-inplate/tv/`. Empty = no protection |
| **Badges on TV screens** | The badge catalog, e.g. “Promotion”, “Today's pick”: name, optional icon, colors and outline – see [Badges on TV screens](/en/docs/tv-screens/#badges-on-tv-screens). A change applies straight away on all screens |

### Phone and tablet apps

The names the installed apps – the KDS, the courier app and the radio – have on the screen of a phone, tablet or computer. The full name is the website's name (**Settings → General → Site Title**) and the app's name, e.g. “InPlate Bistro – KDS”. A shorter version shows under the icon.

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Short restaurant name** | The name under the app's icon, e.g. “InPlate Bistro” gives “InPlate Bistro KDS”, “InPlate Bistro Courier”, “InPlate Bistro Radio”. About 12 characters fit under the icon – a phone shortens longer names. A preview of all three names shows under the field | the website's name |

The apps' icons stay InPlate icons. After a name change:

- **Android and computers (Chrome, Edge)** update the name themselves the next time the app starts, sometimes after a few days. The browser may ask for permission to change it.
- **iPhone and iPad** keep the name given when the app was added to the Home Screen. Delete the icon and add the app again (Safari → **Share → Add to Home Screen**). You can also type the name by hand when adding it.

### Customer accounts

Customers sign in in the order form with a one-time code from email – see [Customer account](/en/docs/how-customers-order/#customer-account).

| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| **Sign-in / account creation at checkout** | The state of the options from **Sales panel → Settings → Accounts & Privacy** – shown here only, you change them in WooCommerce |
| **Send me a test code** | Sends a sample email with a code to your address. If it doesn't arrive, customers won't get the code either – check spam, the “InPlate: Sign-in code” email in **Sales panel → Settings → Emails** and email sending (e.g. with an SMTP plugin) |
| **InPlate look for “My Account”** | The WooCommerce **My account** page gets the InPlate look regardless of the theme: a menu with icons (a scrolling bar on a phone), cards, buttons, forms, an orders table with statuses and tiles on the dashboard. The **Downloads** tab is hidden until the store has a downloadable product. Turn it off if the account should look like the rest of your theme. A developer changes the colors – see [The look of “My account”](/en/docs/technical-information/#the-look-of-my-account). On by default |

#### Consents

Your own consents, e.g. for a newsletter or accepting the terms. InPlate shows, saves and exports them – it doesn't send any messages. You send the newsletter with your own tool.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Content | The consent's text. It can contain a link (`<a href="…">terms</a>`) and bold text |
| **Where to show** | **When an account is created** (when a customer creates an account with a code) or **On every order** (in the form, also to guests) |
| **Required** | Without ticking it, an account can't be created or an order placed |
| **Active** | Customers don't see an inactive consent. Consents given earlier stay saved |
| **Download CSV** | The list of people who have this consent now: email, name, date, version and source. Customers with an account by their last decision, guests by their orders |

Customers see consents unticked. Changing the text of a saved consent creates its new version – earlier consents keep the wording they were given to. A customer with an account can withdraw an optional consent in **My account → Consents**. Consents are covered by the WordPress **Tools → Export / Erase Personal Data** tools.

### Omnibus Directive

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Show the lowest price of the last 30 days** | For a product on sale the customer sees the lowest price from the 30 days before the reduction: in the product window at the very bottom, and on the card and in related products whenever they show a reduction | on |

How WP InPlate knows past prices and when a reduction isn't shown – see [Promotions, Omnibus and happy hours](/en/docs/promotions-and-happy-hours/#the-lowest-price-in-30-days-omnibus).

### Security

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Google reCAPTCHA v3 (invisible)** | Extra protection against bots when a sign-in code is sent and an order is placed. Customers see no fields or tasks. Requires keys from the Google reCAPTCHA Admin Console | off |
| **Site Key, Secret Key** | The reCAPTCHA keys. A saved Secret Key is hidden – enter a new one to change it | – |
| **Test connection with Google** | Checks whether the server connects to Google and whether the Secret Key is correct | – |

### Setup wizard

The last section of the **System** tab. The **Show setup wizard** link runs the [wizard](/en/docs/setup-wizard/) again, e.g. to check or change the basic configuration.

## The Sales tab

Everything that affects the order and the amount the customer pays: the order minimum, the packaging fee, how products are shown and the cart suggestions. The **Save** button saves both this tab and the System tab.

### Pickup address

Your venue's address that customers get in the “Ready for pickup” email: street, number, postcode, city, additional directions and a Google Maps link (a “Get directions” button in the email). See [Delivery and delivery zones](/en/docs/delivery-zones/#pickup-address-in-the-email).

### Order minimum

The switches apply a shared minimum amount to the methods without an address. Delivery has its own minimum in every zone.

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Apply the order minimum to pickup** | A shared minimum amount for pickup | off |
| **Apply the order minimum to dine-in** | A shared minimum amount for eating in | off |
| **Apply the order minimum to QR tables** | A shared minimum amount for tables | off |
| **Minimum amount (€)** | The field appears after you turn on one of the switches. 0 means no minimum, even with a switch on. The brackets show the store currency from WooCommerce | 0 |

Since version 1.16.0 the **Let customers order for the next day** option is in the schedule form – see [Ordering for the next day](/en/docs/schedule/#ordering-for-the-next-day).

Delivery has its own minimum, set in each delivery zone.

### Packaging fee

A fixed amount added to the order depending on the fulfillment method, e.g. €1 for packaging for pickup and delivery. The customer doesn't have to choose packaging for every dish – the fee appears by itself in the summary once they choose the fulfillment method.

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Add a packaging fee** | Turns the fee on. The fields below appear once it is on | off |
| **Fee amount**: Pickup, Delivery, Dine-in, QR table | The gross amount the customer pays, separately for each method. Empty or 0 = no fee for that method | empty |
| **Name on the order** | The item's name in the summary, the order and on the invoice. Empty = “Packaging” | “Packaging” |
| **VAT rate** | The WooCommerce tax class for the fee. The field shows only when taxes are enabled in WooCommerce. Agree the rate with your accountant | Standard |

How the fee works:

- The order summary has a separate line, e.g. “Packaging €1.00”, and it changes together with the fulfillment method. In the cart at the side of the page it shows only for a table order – for an online order the fulfillment method is chosen only in the summary.
- In the WooCommerce order it is a regular fee line: it shows in the order screen, in WooCommerce emails and on invoices, and the payment gateway gets the amount including the fee.
- The KDS shows it in the order details (**Payment summary**), the label as “incl. packaging”. The courier sees the total including the fee.
- The fee doesn't count toward the order minimum.
- The server always calculates the amount from these settings – the customer's browser can't change it.

This fee is charged once per order. When you charge packaging per dish (e.g. a box for every pizza, more expensive for a large one), use a mandatory surcharge in an add-on template with the **When to add** field – see [Packaging: per dish or per order](/en/docs/add-ons/#packaging-per-dish-or-per-order). A deposit for a specific dish (e.g. a bottle) is also set as a surcharge on the dish.

### Products

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Disabled product behavior** | **Hide product from the page** or **Show product as unavailable** | hide |
| **Label for unavailable products** | The label text next to an unavailable dish, e.g. “Sold out” | “Unavailable” |
| **Sale price** | **Show the sale price instead of the regular price** or **Strike through the regular price and show the sale price**. Applies to the list of products, the product window and related products. See [The sale price in the menu](/en/docs/promotions-and-happy-hours/#the-sale-price-in-the-menu) | sale price only |

### Product badge display

How product tags show on dish cards and in the dish window: **Icon and label** (default), **Icon only** or **Label only**.

### Showing allergens

Where customers see [allergens](/en/docs/allergens/#what-customers-see):

- **On the card and in the modal** (default) – a small “Contains allergens” note on the dish card with the list on hover or tap, and in the dish window the ingredients, the dish's allergens and the add-ons' allergens.
- **Only in the modal** – the card and cross-sell suggestions without the note; the dish window shows everything as above.
- **Do not show** – customers don't see allergens in the menu, next to add-ons or in order emails. The rules require stating them before the order, so choose this option only when you inform customers in another way, e.g. with an [allergen chart](/en/docs/allergens/#allergen-chart) (the block works with every setting). The order in the WordPress dashboard still shows the items' allergens.

### Allergens on labels

**Show allergens on labels** adds each item's allergens under it on the [order label](/en/docs/order-labels/#what-the-label-contains): of the dish and the chosen add-ons, as saved when the order was placed. It works independently of the “Showing allergens” setting. Off by default.

### Happy hours

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Enable the Happy hours feature** | After saving, it adds the **Happy hours** tab to the manager panel in the KDS (within a minute at most, without refreshing the tablet) and the **InPlate → Happy hours** page in the WordPress dashboard. After you turn it off, the discounts stop working, and the rules stay saved | off |

See [Happy hours](/en/docs/promotions-and-happy-hours/#happy-hours).

### Promotions

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Enable the Promotions feature** | After saving, it adds the **Promotions** tab to the manager panel in the KDS (within a minute at most, without refreshing the tablet) and the **InPlate → Promotions** page in the WordPress dashboard. After you turn it off, the promotions stop working, and their settings stay saved | off |

See [Promotions](/en/docs/promotions/).

### Related products (cross-sells)

| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| **Enable cross-sell modal on desktop** | on |
| **Enable cross-sell modal on mobile** | on |

See [Cross-sell](/en/docs/cross-sell/).

## The Notifications tab

| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Play sound on new order** | A sound in the open dashboard tab | on |
| **Show system notifications** | An operating system notification, requires the browser's permission | off |
| **Check frequency** | 15 s, 30 s, 1 min, 2 min | 30 s |
| **Order label size** | A6 (105 × 148 mm), A7 (74 × 105 mm), A8 (52 × 74 mm) | A6 |

Notifications are described in [Notifications](/en/docs/notifications/), labels in [Labels](/en/docs/order-labels/).
