WP InPlate is available in three languages:
| Language | Scope |
|---|---|
| Polish | The whole plugin (the source language) |
| English | The whole plugin |
| Ukrainian | The whole plugin |
The language of the website and the dashboard
The menu, the cart, the order form, emails and the WordPress dashboard use the language set in WordPress (Settings → General → Site Language) or in the user's profile.
You can also offer customers the menu and ordering in other languages – with a switch above the menu and emails in the customer's language. See Menu in several languages.
The names of the InPlate payment methods (“Pay at the counter” etc.) show in the language of the screen you view them on: in the KDS and the dashboard – in the website's language, in the email to the customer – in the order's language. Titles you changed by hand stay as they are.
All WP InPlate texts – also messages from the server, permission names in the user profile, order statuses and the ready-made product tags – are in the website's language. Numbers use the correct plural forms in every language (“2 products”, “5 products”).
Content saved in the database
What you type yourself – the names of products, categories, add-ons and templates, texts from the settings (e.g. the store-closed message), tag names – stays in the language it was saved in. Changing the website's language doesn't translate it. The wizard's sample data and the ready-made tags are created in the website's language at the moment they are created.
You enter the translations of this content for customers on the InPlate → Translations screen – see Menu in several languages.
The team apps' language
The KDS, the courier app and the radio have their own PL / EN / UA language switch. The choice is remembered on each device, so e.g. a courier can work in Ukrainian and the kitchen in Polish. In the radio, changing the language doesn't interrupt the music.
The KDS shows the standard names of the sales channels (Delivery, Pickup, Dine-in, QR tables) in the device's language – also in the filters, when pausing orders and in the happy hours rules. Your own method names from the Schedule are for customers.
Entries in the order history in the KDS (assignments, status reverts, returns, pickups with the QR code) show in the KDS's language – also entries saved earlier.
Your own fulfillment method names
Method names you change in the Schedule (e.g. “Collect at the venue”) are translated for customers on the InPlate → Translations screen (the Texts type). The standard WordPress tools (gettext) work too, and developers can change them with the wp_inplate_method_label filter.
Your own translations
WP InPlate uses the standard WordPress translation system (the wp-inplate domain). You can adjust the texts or translate them into another language with a translation tool, e.g. the Loco Translate plugin, using the template file languages/wp-inplate.pot.
