A label is a printout you stick on the bag with the order. It helps when handing over orders and lets the courier pick up the order with one scan of the QR code.
The label is an operational document, not a fiscal receipt.
Printing
In the KDS:
- the printer icon on the order card, or
- the Print label button in the header of the order details.
The label preview opens. The Print button starts the browser's print dialog – choose the printer and the paper size matching the setting.
WP InPlate doesn't print automatically (“silently”) to a receipt printer. Every printout goes through the browser's print dialog.
Label size
You set it in InPlate → Settings → Notifications → Order label size:
| Format | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| A6 (standard) | 105 × 148 mm |
| A7 | 74 × 105 mm |
| A8 | 52 × 74 mm |
What the label contains
- the order number and the time it was placed,
- the fulfillment method: pickup, delivery, dine-in or QR table (with the table's label and zone),
- the fulfillment time, and the day if it isn't today,
- the delivery address,
- the items with add-ons (the size is in the dish name, e.g. “Margherita – 40 cm”),
- each item's allergens, e.g. “Allergens: Gluten, Milk” – only when you turn this on in the settings (see below),
- the customer's note,
- the coupon, price before discount, packaging, delivery surcharge and total – only when the person printing has the prices permission,
- the QR code for the courier to scan (“Scan to assign courier”).
The label doesn't contain the customer's name or phone. A bag with a label passes through many hands, so this data stays in the apps with permission control.
Allergens on the label are turned on in InPlate → Settings → Sales → Allergens on labels. The allergens of the dish and the chosen add-ons appear under each item, as saved when the order was placed (a later change of ingredients doesn't change them). They are off by default – the customer gets them in the order email anyway. See Allergens.
The QR code on the label
- The courier scans the code in the courier app and picks up the order.
- The code is valid until the end of the order's fulfillment day, but no less than 4 hours. Labels printed earlier for tomorrow's orders work too.
- Opening the label preview again doesn't invalidate the code on a label you have already printed.
